If your child participated in the monthly book club, the book this month is How to Catch an Elf.  It is coming home today. There is also a copy in our classroom for students to enjoy if they do not have one coming home.  If you are interested in joining any month just let me know!  In our classroom during read alouds we often stop and turn and talk with our partners at different points in the book.  I have gone through this book and found some spots to turn and talk at home.  I hope that you will use these examples below with this book to extend the thinking and enjoyment of a new book. This month New Directions is showing how to BE Thankful!  As a way to bring us together as a school community we are going to have an "Appreciation Station" set up for students and families to use at conferences.  At this station you will be able to write a note to someone you are thankful for in your lives. It can be someone from the school or someone from somewhere else in your lives.  Please look for the station outside the cafeteria by the 4K classroom and stop by to let someone know you are thankful for them!
