Hello, Here comes May! I am hoping the weather cooperates and we keep getting those warmer temps. I am going to be sending home all winter gear that is still in their lockers: snow pants, boots, mittens, hats, etc. Be on the lookout for those. If you are still missing items please check out the school's lost and found, there are a lot of items in there! Upcoming Events: May 7th: PSC Meeting May 22nd: Family Night May 25th and 28th: No School May 30st: 1st Grade Field Trip Reading: In reading this week we are continuing to work in our nonfiction book clubs. We will be talking about how we can compare the books that we are studying. In our books we will also mark expert words in the text and think about what they mean. We will be ending the week with talking about how to present to our groups, how when we read them something we wrote about our books we use an expert voice. Writing: In writing this week we are continuing our writing projects. Students are starting to write

Hello, Have you heard?!? We won highest percentage of KAT questions correct!  Our class won a pizza party.  When the details are figured out, I will let you know.  The final Fangs are due for the reading club.  I will accept them until Thursday if you still have them at home. We are learning how we can learn together, how to learn as much as you can from each section, and how to retell the most important things you learn. Writing: Writing topics have been chosen! We have a range of topics that students are going to be working on in the next few weeks. Ranging from songs and poem to brochures and posters. Ask your child what they chose to study! Word Study:  We are working in unit 10.  We are working with words that have multiple syllables and more than one blend in them.

Happy KAT Week!  Please continue to practice the questions at home.  Friday morning students will be asked to answer them.
