How to Catch an Elf

If your child participated in the monthly book club, the book this month is How to Catch an Elf.  It is coming home today. There is also a copy in our classroom for students to enjoy if they do not have one coming home.  If you are interested in joining any month just let me know! 

In our classroom during read alouds we often stop and turn and talk with our partners at different points in the book.  I have gone through this book and found some spots to turn and talk at home.  I hope that you will use these examples below with this book to extend the thinking and enjoyment of a new book. May 21st

Hello, Next week Wednesday, May 30th, is our Community Field Trip.  Thank you to all who volunteered to join us! For those of you who aren’t able to join us all day, we will be eating lunch at 12:00 at Horseshoe Park.  If you have some time, feel free to stop down and join us! We know that this is a later lunch than usual for first graders but we will be eating several snacks on our stop at the Piggly Wiggly in the morning.  We are excited to learn more about our community and celebrate a fun year in first grade! April 30th

Hello, Here comes May! I am hoping the weather cooperates and we keep getting those warmer temps. I am going to be sending home all winter gear that is still in their lockers: snow pants, boots, mittens, hats, etc. Be on the lookout for those.
