December 11th

Hello!  Remember that tomorrow is a day off for students!  Thank you for remembering boots and snow pants today!  Winter has arrived :) 12/12: No School for students 12/13: Holiday Wear 12/21: Pajama Day 12/22: No School 12/25-1/1: Winter Break January 2nd: Classes Resume Reading: In reading this week we are are thinking about our keywords in our books and practicing talking about them.  Students are using post-its to mark up their books as reminders to talk about them with their partners.  We will also use drama to help bring our books to life.  At the end of the week we will celebrate by reading to another class.   Writing: In writing this week we are getting ready to publish. We are picking out some of our favorite pieces and revising by adding more or taking away. We are also using our revision checklist that we created as a class. We are also going to edit to make our writing easy to read and share with others!  Word Study: This week we are in Unit 5.

Hello, Reminder that Wednesday afternoon from 1-2 is the time that we invited family members in to be interviewed for the end of our social studies unit.  There are a few students who are not able to have somebody join them and I want them to be able to use that time on Wednesday to work on their own family poster.  It would be helpful if you could spend some time tomorrow night filling out the survey questions so they can use this on their posters.  Thank you for your help! Looking at the forecast...winter might finally be making its appearance.  Please check that your first grader is coming to school with hats, mittens/gloves, and a warm enough jacket.  Once the snow starts flying remember boots and snowpants!  We have two 20 minute recesses a day and we want to make sure students stay warm! Thank you for your help!   Here are pictures from the field trip! Thank you to all of our chaperones. It was a great day! Events: 12/5: Kauka
