Feb. 26th-March 2nd

Hello, How is it possible that this week is already going to be March?!? I hope that everyone enjoyed their break! On Friday we will celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday with some special activities. It is also a favorite book character dress up day. February 27th: Family Night: Music and Munchies March 2nd: Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character March 5th: Culver’s Night for PSC 5-8 March 9th: Half Day March 16th: Wear Green  Reading: This week in reading we are continuing to learn how readers have big jobs to do! Hello!  I'm sorry for the delay in the blog, I was out of town yesterday for a family funeral.  I'm sad that I missed the 100th day because it sounds like they had a lot of fun.  I am proud of how much they have all grown so far in 1st grade! Remember to bring in Valentine's tomorrow.  Thank you to everyone who responded with treats.  It should be a fun party :) Upcoming Events: February 14th: Valentine’s Day, wear red or pink February 16th: Funky Friday February 22nd/23rd: No School February 27th: Family Night: Music and Munchies Reading: This week we are adding more tools to our toolbox to help us solve some harder words we are coming across in our books! This is a very busy and important time of the year for your child’s reading. Thank you for continuing to work with them on their reading at home! Writing: We are starting our poetry unit this week.  We will have some inquiry lessons where we read many different poems and notice how they are all different.  W

Hello, It's already February! And winter is in full swing! I am attaching the note about the Valentine Party next week.  Let me know if you are willing to send something in for it.  I will send home a paper copy in folders tomorrow. We have sent Valentine's to schools across the United States.  We are starting to get some mail back.  Ask your first grader where they sent theirs! It will be fun to learn about different schools and states. Hello, Enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year is underway and we have a few spots available in Kindergarten! We find that word of mouth is the best way to market our school. If you have friends or family with upcoming Kindergarten-aged students, please share what you love about our school! We will be having an open house to see Kindergarten in action on Thursday, February 8th from 8:15-9:00 or 2:15-3:00. Feel free to invite any families that have expressed interest in our school.   As always, families can also call Mrs. Fris
