Have you heard?!? We won highest percentage of KAT questions correct! Our class won a pizza party. When the details are figured out, I will let you know.
The final Fangs are due for the reading club. I will accept them until Thursday if you still have them at home.

Reading: In reading this week we are continuing with nonfiction book clubs. We are learning how we can learn together, how to learn as much as you can from each section, and how to retell the most important things you learn.
Writing: Writing topics have been chosen! We have a range of topics that students are going to be working on in the next few weeks. Ranging from songs and poem to brochures and posters. Ask your child what they chose to study!
Word Study: We are working in unit 10. We are working with words that have multiple syllables and more than one blend in them.
Math: In math this week we are taking our test for Unit 8. We will then go back to the unit that we skipped which is Unit 7. In Unit 7 students are learning about shapes and time. It is a fun unit to end on in 1st grade!
Social Studies: We started talking about communities, but specifically we are looking into needs and wants in the community. How some people sell goods and services and how you need to budget money into things we need or want. We will be doing a close reading and sorting this week to learn more about it.
